A suspected arson occurred Tuesday evening on McRae Street in Atmore.
According to Atmore Fire Department chief Gerry McGhee, someone attempted to burn an abandoned house.
"Somebody tried to set it and we had a quick response," McGhee said. "We are now trying to determine who the property belongs to."
