According to the Alabama Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol Division, Evergreen Post, an Atmore man was killed Tuesday night in a car accident.
At approximately 10 p.m. Tuesday Johnnie Wayne Powell, 50, of Atmore was fatally injured in a two-vehicle accident occurring six miles north of Atmore on County Road 1. Powell was traveling in a 1997 Jeep.
Jeremy Robert Hall, 27, of Atmore was also injured. Hall was traveling in a 2005 Chevrolet PK.
Both men were taken to Atmore Community Hospital.
The accident is under investigation by state troopers.
