Billy Joe Latty
FLOMATON - Mr. Billy Joe Latty, 80, of Flomaton died Friday, July 11, 2008 at his residence.
Mr. Latty was a native of Westbrook, Texas and had been a resident of Flomaton since 1972 coming from Stanton, Texas. He was retired from Exxon after working 34 years and 8 months with them and he was retired from the United States Army. Mr. Latty was a member of Little Escambia Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Gaston and Nellie Jane Snellgrove Latty; his children, Vickie Yvonne, Bill Chris and Marsha Rebecca and his brother, Bobby Gene Latty.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Peggy Latty of Flomaton; daughters, Joni and Bill Harris of Pollard and Glynith and Ronald Byrd of Atmore; his sister, Nelda Faye Hazelwood of Stanton, Texas; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2008 at Flomaton Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Hogg and Dr. Larry Patterson officiating. Interment followed in Little Escambia cemetery. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2008 at Flomaton Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Billy Owens, Tommy Wilkerson, Kevin Bishop, Kevin Jordan, Donald Jordan and Mitch Norman. Honorary pallbearers were Ed Johnson, Wayne Owens, Lacy Wilkerson, Spook Spilker and Aubrey Strength.
Annie Mildred Fancher
ATMORE - Annie Mildred Fancher, 87, of Atmore, died Friday, July 11, 2008 at her residence.
She was a retired school teacher with the Escambia County Florida Board of Education, born in Vicksburg, Miss. on Oct. 14, 1920 to the late Edward Beaugard and Juliana Foster Cotton.
She was preceded in death by a son, Edward Turner Fancher.
Survivors include, her husband, Sterling Fancher of Atmore; one son, William Turner “Bill” Fancher and wife Laura of Daphne; one daughter, Julianna Hardy and husband Earl of Atmore; one brother, Dwain Cotton of Vicksburg, Miss.; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Arnold Hendrix and Bro. Don Haskell Dun officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill cemetery. Family received friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2008 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home. Pallbearers were, John James, Howard Shell, Tom Wolfe, Sonny Faulk, Dee Cotton, Charles Cotton, Jimmy Beck, David McDonald and Sonny Barrett.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
