APL appreciates community, sponsors for Summer Reading Program assistance
The staff of the Atmore Public Library would like to thank everyone for helping make our “Catch the Reading Bug” 2008 Summer Reading a great success.
Thanks to our sponsors: Alabama Power Company and Pizza Hut.
Thanks to Shirley West and Jackie Word for providing a nature program. Your contributions to the Friends of the Library provided Bruce Brennen’s Wild West show, Rick Rakestraw’s Critters and a balloon artist.
I don’t know who enjoyed them most, the children or the parents. A very special thanks to Atmore Advance for publicizing our programs and showing the public what our children are involved in this summer.
Our program was a great success; attendance for all six programs was 621 children and 275 adults.
Two thousand, two hundred fifty (2,250) books were checked out during the six-week program.
Thanks again to everyone! We would not have been able to provide this program without your help.
Sincerely,
Cathy J. McKinley
Atmore Public Library
Director
