Atmore Community Hospital has received an upgrade, according to MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) technician Charles Thomas.
Thomas said the new MRI will also provide better quality.
According to Candy McGuyre with Baptist Health Care, Atmore Community Hospital has acquired a new 1.5 Tesla, high-field MRI system.
Thomas said the new MRI is the latest in technology.
ACH director of radiology Caroline Hayles said Atmore area residents may not expect such upgraded equipment at the Atmore hospital.
According to McGuyre, the service will assist Atmore area residents with travel expenses.
