Pastor Bernard Bishop Ministries and Deliverance Ministry of Jesus Christ, Inc., will host “Stomp the Yard” Saturday for the second year in a row.
The essay contest is a chance for a high school senior around the area to receive a $500 scholarship. The recipient of the scholarship will be announced at the “Stomp the Yard” event and is the individual who wrote about what they can do to give back to the community.
Bishop said he hopes that the $500 scholarship will help one student with at least their college books for a semester. There are different sponsors from businesses and churches throughout the area who have provided funding for the scholarship.
Co-coordinator Felicia Bishop said those in charge of “Stomp the Yard” are appreciative of the communities help.
