Out with the old, in with the new is the philosophy that the Atmore Country Club is taking with its outdated golf carts.
The country club will receive updated models today from E-z Go in Augusta, Ga.
Golf course superintendent Rodney Stewart said the decision to get new carts came up a couple weeks ago, but it has been apparent for a while that they were needed.
The old carts are 1998 E-z Go models are outdated, in the form of their transmission as well as the look.
Stewart said the golf carts being brought in are 2006 models and will feature improvements that golfers and mechanics are going to like.
The old carts are still in decent shape, according to Stewart.
He said they might need some odd and end work, but they still run well.
He added that the old carts would be sold by R.S. Golf carts in the near future.
Golf carts are not the only upgrades that have been made to the course this summer by the employees at the country club.
Stewart said a couple of the tees have been added on too to make the course a little better.
He added that the process to improve is always moving and keeping up with the new things.
