Football season is a little more than a month away for the Northview Chiefs, but the team is almost in full swing to prepare for their first game against Pensacola Catholic High School.
Head coach Cody Keene said his players continue to build core qualities that a football player needs and added he has been pleased with their hard work.
The Chiefs have been pushing all summer to make all their required workouts and have steadily increased in all aspects, according to Keene.
Keene said he is ready for full practices to begin, as to see how each player has improved over the past few months.
Every coach has is looking for dedicated players that they will be able to rely on when a game is on the line and Keene is no different.
Keene said was he disappointed early in the summer with some of the players not as dedicated as in the past, but the last few weeks he has seen steady improvement in morale.
Practice begins Aug. 11, for Northview with helmets and shorts the first three days and then moving to full pads on Aug. 14.
Keene said he is ready to see his team practice in full gear and even though he has a young team he still believes they will play well.
