Community should support the YMCA
Atmore residents should take a stand and help the Atmore Area YMCA.
In 2010, the W.S. Neal Trust will no longer provide grant funds to the YMCA, which have been a large portion of funding that aids in operational costs. Without the donations, the Y’s future is questionable.
If the citizens in Atmore will come together and donate money or hold fundraisers to support the Y, it would have a greater chance of remaining open. Take time and think about the good programs the YMCA has to offer and the values it tries to promote. Some of the programs offered by the Y are the only ones of its kind in town.
It is important for children to have the chance to play sports or make new friends as well as creating a family bond, but without a YMCA this would be hard to accomplish.
Help Atmore keep its YMCA.
