Atmore’s Relay For Life committee is prepping to get the fundraiser started with a kickoff event, which is scheduled for Aug. 21.
The committee met Wednesday at David’s Catfish House to discuss the kickoff and the overall fundraiser.
The kickoff will be held Aug. 21 at noon at the Wisteria in Atmore and lunch will be provided by committee members.
Instead of charging an entry fee for this year’s Relay For Life kickoff event, there will be donation buckets placed around the Wisteria for those who would like to give to the cause.
This year’s Relay For Life theme is “It’s A Time For A Cure,” and teams will choose different time periods for their tent decorations, etc. at the main event, which is scheduled for April 18, 2009.
Individuals interested in having a Relay For Life team can begin registering their teams Sept. 1 online at www.relayforlife.org.
