Escambia County High School’s volleyball team begins its season on Aug. 21 and has been practicing since July 7.
The Blue Devils participated in a summer program beginning in July and a camp with the University of West Florida.
Head coach Sarah Watkins said summer workouts went well and helped her team gain some experience.
The Blue Devils played in a team camp late in July at Flomaton High School.
Watkins said the team camp was a good experience for the team and helped place them in game time situations.
She added that several players stepped up during the camp.
As for how the players feel, Watkins said they are excited about the upcoming season.
She added the new uniforms and shoes have increased the morale of the team.
