For 14 years, Leadership Atmore has helped to develop the current and future leaders of Atmore and the surrounding areas.
The Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce and the Leadership Atmore Steering Committee has been working hard this summer to plan for the 2009 class and is currently accepting applications for those businesses, churches and community organizations that would like to have one of their own experience the class.
Manning believes Leadership Atmore plays a vital role in the community helping not only develop leaders, but also assisting in developing a network between business professionals and friends.
Leadership Atmore begins with an overnight teambuilding retreat scheduled for Sept. 18-19 at Camp Beckwith on Weeks Bay in south Baldwin County, which features many team building exercises and class project discussions. Program sessions will follow each month including history and culture, education, law and government, business and industry and healthcare.
Applications for Leadership Atmore can be picked up at the Chamber office located at 501 S. Pensacola Ave. They must be returned by 4 p.m. on Aug. 29. The cost to participate is $425, which includes the trip to Camp Beckwith, the cost of travel to Montgomery for the government session and all lunches during monthly program sessions.
