Soccer season is getting ready to kick off and the Atmore Area YMCA teams have signed up and are beginning to practice for their first games.
More than 125 children signed up to play for the YMCA and have assigned to their teams and begin play the first week of September.
Ross Terry said a clinic was held yesterday to teach skills to newcomers as well as enhance skills of other players.
The break down of the leagues is separated into three different age groups.
The three-to-five-year-old teams play five-minute quarters and play on Mondays and Tuesdays.
The 6-to-8t-year-olds play seven-minute quarters and play Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Teams in the 9-to-12-year-old league play 10-minute quarters and play their games on Mondays and Thursdays.
Terry said the 13-to-18-year-old travel teams are still signing up and start to play after the younger kids begin.
He added that the registration fee is different for members and non-members.
The teams in the 13-18-year-old league will play each other and will also travel to Brewton.
Terry said that each of the teams are participating in a league with teams from the Brewton YMCA.
He added that the games are being played on Tuesdays in Brewton and Saturdays in Atmore.
