PERDIDO – Mr. Richard Gray Newhart, 48, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 4 at a Mobile hospital.
Mr. Newhart was a native of Norfolk, Va., a resident of Perdido since 2004, a veteran of Desert Storm, served on the USS America and attended Antioch Springs of Life Church.
Survivors include, his wife, Patsy Newhart of Perdido; two sons, Jonathan Newhart of Houston, Tex., Patrick Scmidt of Warner Robbins, Ga.; two daughters, Nicole Newhart of College Station, Tex., and Staci Schmidt of Perdido, Ala.; his father Richard Gray Marshall of Virginia Beach, Va.,; his mother, Earlene Newhart of Virginia Beach, Va.; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Sept. 7 at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Sister Eula Prince and Sister Wanda Hadley officiating.
Visitation will be Sunday Sept. 7 from 1 p.m. until funeral time at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Roger Hadley, Patrick Schmidt, Christopher Schmidt, Jerry Lyman and Roger Martin.
A special appreciation is extended to Earlene Newhart, Earlene Swason, Lindsey Stallings and Anthony Gargiulo for their kind assistance to the family.
