The tough only gets tougher for the Escambia Academy Cougars as they prepare to travel to Pickens Academy Friday.
The Cougars (0-4) are still searching for their first victory as the halfway mark of the season approaches.
Head coach Heath Gibson said that his team just needs to put the losses behind them simply because the past cannot change.
The Pirates (1-2) run a spread offense with their quarterback controlling most of the carries.
Gibson said the defense needs work on being aware of where the ball is at all times.
On defense, Pickens runs a 5-2 set and tries to fit several players into the box.
Gibson said the offense should help widen the field and try to pull them out of their usually set.
The Cougars and Pirates are set to kickoff at 7 p.m. in Canoe.
