John William “Bill” Collins

FLOMATON—Mr. John William “Bill” Collins, 53, of Flomaton passed away on Sept. 17 at a local hospital.
Mr. Collins was born in Sylacauga and moved to Flomaton when he was just six months old and remained there with his family where he was a member of Flomaton First Baptist Church and a lifetime member of North American Hunting Club.
Mr. Collins worked for Exxon for several years as a senior plant operator and had begun his own business, Collins Custom Rods, which specialized in building hot rods and repairs.
Survivors include, his wife, Charlotte Mullins Collins of Flomaton; two daughters, Wendi and Brittany Collins, both of Flomaton and one son, James Robert Collins of Houston, Texas.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 20 at Flomaton First Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry Keese and the Rev. Dustin Stockstill officiating. Burial followed at Flomaton Cemetery.
Visitation services were held at the Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel with family taking visitors from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.
Pallbearers were Billy Hines, David Adams, Richard Hawthorne, Buddy Morris, Freddie Sasser and Donny Marshall.
