ATMORE - Frances Alicia Leatherwood, 59, of Atmore died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008 in Atmore.
Mrs. Leatherwood was born in Lottie on Oct. 11, 1948 to the late Novie Lee and Gracie Mae Mitchell Jones and was employed by Hainjes Furniture as a sales person.
Survivors include her husband, Winston Clark Leatherwood of Atmore; one son, Mitchell Clark Leatherwood; one daughter, Anissa Kay Ledkins and husband Bobby Darrell, “Whom she loved like a son,” all of Lottie; one brother, Glenn Douglas Jones of Mobile; one sister, Patricia Anne Hughes of Lottie; two grandchildren, Harrison Myles Ledkins and Brent Alexander Ledkins and many other relatives and friends.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008 from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Chris Pruitt and Bro. Malcolm Harrelson officiating. Interment followed in Serenity Gardens Cemetery in Atmore.
Active pallbearers were Chris Hughes, Carey Hughes, Glenn Douglas Jones Jr., Barry Fullerton and Paul Fullerton. Honorary pallbearers were Nip Hadley, Joe Frank Mims, Benny Dockens, Glen Hadley, Dennis Ferrell, Rodney Boutwell, David Whittington and Steve Whittington.
Family received friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Oct. 3, 2008 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of all arrangements.
