CENTURY, Fla. – On Sunday morning, Oct. 5, 2008, our loved one stepped across the threshold to begin eternal life with our heavenly Father.
On July 23, 1937 the late John C. Williams was born in Braggs to the late Jake and Larcenia Williams. He was the youngest of five children born to this union. He was baptized at an early age at Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Braggs. He received his formal education at Tempergate School in the Bragg County School System. He was employed with West Florida Concrete and Al Johnson Construction before he retired. He joined Marie Bolling Williams in matrimony and to this union one child, Patricia, was born.
His parents; his wife, Marie and sister, Florence, precedes him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving daughter, Patricia (Victor) Archie of Bagdad, Fla.; one daughter he raised as his own, Alecia (Mike) Whitacre of Pensacola, Fla.; one brother, Albert (Ida) Williams of Pensacola, Fla; two sisters, Lizzie Taylor of Los Angeles and Rose Lee Thigpen of Bragg; two sister-in-laws, Carolyn Bolling of Century, Fla. and Joan Cooper of San Francisco; one brother-in-law, C.J. Bolling of Century, Fla.; five grandchildren, Michael Jones of Queens, N.Y., Krystal Jones of Pensacola, Fla. and Tiki, Shaniqua and Michael Whitacre Jr., all of Pensacola, Fla.; three great grandchildren, Qumesha Brown, Dinesha Jones and QuTerrius Williams, all of Pensacola, Fla. and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 10, 2008 at Edward Point Christian Church in Century, Fla. with the Rev. Lamar Randall officiating.
Pallbearers and flower attendants were friends and family.
Christian Memorial Funeral Homes was in charge of the services.
