Every minute the Wind Creek Casino &Hotel goes without power cost the Poarch Band of Creek Indians thousands of dollars.
That’s why when the casino was designed, engineers made sure their plans called for backup systems for all utilities. They took it a step further with their plans calling for backup systems for their backup systems.
The ground floor of the more than $230 million high-rise not only houses the casino’s 50,000 square foot gaming floor, restaurants and numerous amenities; it also serves as the 17-story facility’s backbone with a massive power plant running the facility.
To supply the generators, a huge underground fuel tank was installed, which can power the casino and hotel at full capacity for six days, according to Martin.
The casino also has tons of air conditioning capacity and huge boilers for heating and heating domestic water.
Both Martin and Angus believe taking these measures to ensure operation is online is key in maintaining profitability.
Martin agreed.
