Longtime Atmore doctor Harry Moore, M.D. will be leaving town at the close of the year.
Moore, who has practiced medicine in Atmore for 26 years, recently accepted the position of medical director at The Clinic at The Premier Center in Austin, Texas.
Moore currently runs Moore Clinic for Wholeness in Health, a Center for Advanced Medicine clinic. He previously served as CEO of Physician’s Associates. He arrived in Atmore in 1982 with his wife, Joanne, and at the time two daughters, where he joined the practice of the late Dr. Ben Maxwell at Physician’s Associates.
Moore’s new business opportunity in Texas came as a surprise.
In addition to new patients from Atmore, Moore Clinic has seen functional medicine patients from as far away as Iowa, Atlanta, north Mississippi, north Alabama, Birmingham, and the Gulf Coast from Destin, Niceville, Daphne, Gulf Shores and Pensacola, Fla.
The move, however, is bittersweet for Moore.
The Premier Center is the new 73,000 square foot home of Premier Research Labs, the world leader in cell resonant nutrition technology. The Clinic, A Centers for Advanced Medicine facility, will be located at The Premier Center.
Dr. Robert Marshall, PhD, clinical nutritionist, CEO and founder of Premier Research Labs said he is excited to have Moore on board.
Marshall is a certified, world renowned, internationally trained clinical nutritionist. Marshall is past president of the International and American Association of Clinical Nutritionists, a member of the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene and the host of “HealthLine,” a weekly radio broadcast aired continuously since 1986, now networked on more than 50 radio stations daily coast to coast. He is also the author of many research papers and articles.
Moore will continue seeing his traditional and functional medicine patients until noon on Dec. 31 when Moore Clinic will then close. All functional medicine patients will receive a letter with information about how to continue their treatments. Traditional family practice patients can arrange to have their chart information transferred.
Moore will begin seeing patients at his new location Jan. 12, 2009.
