PENSACOLA, Fla. – Mr. Johnnie “Pineapple” Lyons, 78, of Pensacola, Fla. formerly of Atmore died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008 at West Florida Hospital in Pensacola, Fla..
Mr. Lyons was a native of Monroe County and lived in Atmore prior to moving to Pensacola, Fla.. He was a retired truck driver.
Mr. Lyons is survived by his wife, Betty Joyce Lyons of Pensacola, Fla.; nine daughters, Diane Daughtry, Sandra Poindexter, Renea Saunders, Mary Powell, all of Atmore, Linda Reeves of Denver, Col., Shelia, Jackie, Karen and Leslie Lyons all of Pensacola, Fla.; seven sons, David Fountain of Walnut Hill, Fla., Elijah Lews, Ricky Lyons, both of Atmore, Kenney Lyons and Randy Lyons both of Atlanta, Ga., Willie and Johnnie Lyons Jr, both of Pensacola, Fla.; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Dec. 6, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Jones Street Holiness Church in Atmore with Bishop Willie L. Williams, pastor, officiating. Internment was held in the Pierce/Rabb Cemetery in the Freemanville community with Turner Funeral Chapel, LLC of Atmore directing.
