FRISCO CITY - Henry E. Barnes “Pete”, 70, of Frisco City passed away peacefully at his daughter and son-in-law’s home on Jan. 6, 2009 after a short battle with cancer. He was born Jan. 1, 1939 in Bratt, Fla. to Otis A. and Jessie Byrd Barnes. Hnery married Betty Jo Morris in Atmore on Jan. 2, 1960. Pete was a veteran who honorably served in the U.S. Navy from 1957 to 1961. He was retired from Wayne Dalton Door Company where he was employed as a machinist. He enjoyed raising chickens, gardening, coin collecting and spending time with family.
He is survived be his wife, Betty; children, Donna Lynn Reddick “Cricket” (Lewis) of Cantonment and Kathy Ann Lewis of Pensacola, Michael Edmon Barnes “Runt” (Suzanne) of Pensacola and Kevin Eugene Barnes (Ashley) of Canoe; 9 grandchildren, Paul, James, Cheona, Jessica, Kasie, Coty, Regan, Luke and James; 4 great-grandchildren, Bailey, Kayla, Malachi and Miles; and two more on the way.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 12, 2009 at Petty’s Funeral Home in Atmore.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant Hospice, 5907 Berryhill Rd., Milton, FL 32570.
Trahan Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Family and friends are invited to the memorial service.
