ROCKY HILL - Mr. Ivy Joe Shiver Sr., 78, of Rocky Hill died Jan. 24, 2009 at his residence.
Mr. Shiver lived in Rocky Hill and was a member of Rocky Hill Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked as a tool room operator in general construction. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ursula Faye Shiver.
Survivors include, his son, Joe Shiver Jr. of Huntsville; his daughters, Emma Rolin of Rocky Hill and Paula Jean Cook of Rocky Hill; brothers, Otis Shiver of Frisco City and Harvey Shiver of Rocky Hill; sisters, Effie Lee Dunn of Rocky hill and Ruth Smith of Rocky Hill; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009 at Rocky Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Pete Dunn and the Rev. Mark Whittington officiating. Burial followed at Rocky Hill cemetery. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 2009 at the Funeral Home.
