Domination was the key word to describe the Atmore Christian School Rams 102-47 crushing of Berean Baptist on Tuesday night.
The Rams opened the game by scoring 31 points in the first quarter and continued that domination throughout the game.
Rams head coach Tim Battles said the Rams opponents were just a young team short on experience.
In the first period, the Rams bullied their way into a 23-point lead by holding their opponents to eight points.
The rout continued in the second quarter as the Rams added 20 more points to the scoreboard, and only giving up 10 to Berean. The halftime buzzer sent the teams into the locker room with the Rams leading 51-18.
Battles said his team shot exceptionally well and performed how they should all over the court.
After halftime, the Rams did not let up on their opponent and put up 32 more points, while Berean could only add another 10.
In the final period, Berean played tighter and scored 19 points, but could not cut into the lead built by ACS as the Rams scored 20 to end the game with a 102-47 victory.
Battles said it was a great win that his team picked up because of their skills.
The Rams were led by Allen Smith’s 22 points, but the team had extra support from Casey Freeman and Stephen Yoder as well. Freeman put up 21 points, while Yoder added 20 of his own.
Battles said Freeman played a great game and shot the lights out.
Travis Pruitt chipped in 12 points for the Rams, while Randy Classen scored eight, Logan Boatwright posted six and Thomas Moore had five points.
