Officers with the Atmore Police Department are on the scene of a deadly shooting in Atmore that occurred just after 10 p.m. Thursday night.
According to witnesses, a black male, armed with a gun, believed to be a shotgun, busted the window of a first-floor apartment at McRae Apartments, entered and began shooting at will.
One victim, a black male, was rushed to Atmore Community Hospital by Atmore Ambulance with numerous gunshot wounds. The other, a black female, was declared dead at the scene.
Officers are currently looking for the man accused of the shooting. He is believed to be driving an older silver Chrysler 300. Additional Escambia County police departments as well as the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office have been notified to assist in the search of the vehicle.
