Bandits finish 2-2 in Gulf Breeze

Atmore’s South Alabama Bandits finished 2-2 at the Battle of the Bay tournament in Gulf Breeze, Fla. on Saturday and Sunday, which was good enough for a third-place finish.
The tournament featured the Bandits along with the Spanish Fort Sluggers, Pensacola Warriors, Wave Baseball, North Florida Sandgnats, Navarre Raiders and the Gulf Breeze Dolphins.
In their final game, the Bandits fell to the Warriors 9-7 on Sunday.
Tanner Smith started the game on the mound for the Bandits pitching three innings giving up one run on five hits and two walks. He also struck out three batters.
Smith was relived by Tristan McAnally in the fourth inning. McAnally pitched two innings giving up seven earned runs on one hit and two walks. He also struck out to Warriors batters.
Offensively, the Bandits were led by Tyler Cameron who hit 2-for-3 in the game with two singles and a run scored.
McAnally led the Bandits in runs scored with two as he crossed the plate in the first inning and again in the fifth inning.
Jacob Anesiewicz hit 1-for-3 at the plate with a double and a run scored. Brandon Broussard went hitless in the game with a walk and a run scored.
Kyle Mitchell was also hitless in the game with a run scored after he reached base on an error by the second baseman.
Shawn White was 1-for-1 in the game with a run scored after he ripped a single.
Other Bandits to record hits included Tanner Smith, Chad Broussard and Trey McGhee.
