Three losses in two days describes the Escambia County Blue Devils baseball team’s experience against the Spanish Fort Toros last weekend.
The Blue Devils(4-10, 0-3) lost to the Toros in Spanish Fort on Saturday and in a doubleheader on Friday evening at Tom Byrne Park.
In Saturday’s game the Blue Devils lost 10-8 in what was their best performance of the three region games.
Blue Devils head coach David Hill said his team started the game strong, but added that the Toros were too tough to handle.
Blue Devils captain Eric Coley was the catalyst in the Saturday game hitting 2-for-3 with a home run.
Leading Blue Devils hitter Marshall Rolin also contributed at the plate going 2-for-4 against the Toros.
On the mound, Justin Stabler started the game for ECHS pitching three innings giving up five earned runs, six hits and two walks. He also recored a strikeout.
He was relieved by Jacob Rackard and Marshall Rolin. Rackard threw two innings and gave up four earned runs on two hits and two walks. Rolin pitched three innings giving up one unearned run on one hit, one walk and struck out one Toros batter.

The second game of the doubleheader between the Escambia County Blue Devils and Spanish Fort Toros ended much the same way as the first game did with the Toros shutting out the ECHS 9-0.
Haden McGill started the game for the Blue Devils pitching a complete game of seven innings. McGill gave up five earned runs on eight hits and four walks. He also struck out four Toros.

A lack of offense from the Escambia County Blue Devils helped the Spanish Fort Toros pick up an 11-0 shutout Friday at Tom Byrne Park.
The Blue Devils (4-8, 0-1) only managed two hits in the loss as Jacob Rackard and Ryan Linam reached base in the game.
Marshall Rolin started the game for ECHS pitching three innings giving up five earned runs on five hits and four walks. He also struck out one batter.
Rackard relieved Rolin and pitched three innings giving up one earned run on three hits and one walk. He struck out two batters.
