It will almost be like deja vu today at First Assembly of God Church when current Cincinnati Bengals and former Alabama standout Simeon Castille appears to speak at a youth rally.
The reason for the deja vu feeling is because Castille’s father, Jeremiah, spoke at the church a little more than 10 years ago in 1998.
The event is being made possible by pastor Don Davis’ son, Josh, who has befriended the NFL player soon to be in his second season.
Josh Davis said that he became friends with Castille after adding him as a friend on Facebook.
Castille making an appearance is exciting for everyone involved.
Jason Oxendine, youth pastor at First Assembly, said he thinks it is a great thing that Castille is taking the time to come and speak.
Although it is the off-season, Castille’s break is coming to an end as he is to report to the Bengals training camp at the end of this month, according to Davis.
Davis said that Castille is doing a great thing by taking a little time to come and speak in Atmore.
He added that this shows the kind of character that Castille has.
Castille will speak at Escambia County High School at 1 p.m. and at First Assembly at 7 p.m.
