MCDAVID, Fla. - Mrs. Flora Hopkins Sheffield, 92, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2009 in McDavid, Fla.
Flora was born Nov. 14, 1916 to Ollie and Anna Roach, she has been a lifelong resident of McDavid, Fla. and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Preceded in death two husbands, Russell Hopkins and Sam Sheffield; a daughter, Louise Hopkins McBride; a grandson, Nathan Hopkins and a brother, Elbert Roach.
Survivors include, two sons, Charles and Ruth Hopkins and John Hopkins, both of McDavid, Fla.; six grandchildren; two step grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Eva Conway of Pensacola, Fla. and Ina Conway of McDavid, Fla. and her special friends, Edna Darby, Gail Chavers, Margaret Higdon, Colleen Cofield and Tim Hammond.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. John Stacy and the Rev. Johnny Fillingim officiating. Burial will follow at Crary Memorial cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2009 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be her great grandsons, Aaron Killam, Sheldon Robbins, Kent Calloway, Johnathan Nelson, Tristan Hopkins and Matt Robbins.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Jeffery Kelley, Jay Hospital and Covenant Hospice.
