A once in a lifetime opportunity is gracing the drivers racing at the Flomaton Speedway in its upcoming event on Wednesday, April 22 when they will have the chance to outrace NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Kenny Wallace.
Wallace will visit the track next Wednesday night and compete in the I.M.C.A. modified class for a chance at $1,200.
Speedway owner Jimmy Goodwin said he has been talking to Wallace for the past few months about coming to the track.
The date that Goodwin planned out works well with the NASCAR schedule that weekend as the Sprint Cup will be racing at the Talladega Superspeedway.
Goodwin said it took a lot of work to make this happen. He added the he hopes to make it a yearly event.
The top thing that Goodwin hopes pulls racers out is that they will be competing against a driver who was a Sprint Cup regular.
He said that a lot of the drivers want a chance to beat Wallace.
Also racing on the night of the modifieds will be the street stock and bomber cars. Street stocks will be competing for $1,000, while the bombers are fighting for a $500 prize.
Wallace will also be signing autographs from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m.
The event is being sponsored by Butler-U-Pull-It. For more information contact Jimmy Goodwin at 251-296-3478 or 850-712-4708.
Races start 8 p.m.
