Emergency crews responded to a multi-vehicle collision involving four cars and a motorcycle Friday afternoon just after 5:30 p.m.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Hwy. 21 and Howard Street in Atmore.
According to eyewitnesses, a silver Hyundai Sonata traveling west on Hwy. 21 struck a 2004 Harley Davidson as it attempted to cross over onto Howard Street from the Dean's Grill parking lot. The force of the impact sent the motorcycle and driver, who has not been identified, across Hwy. 21 into oncoming traffic and crashing into the middle of three additional cars including a white Ford Taurus SE, a red Oldsmobile CutlassSupreme SL and a red Chevrolet Cavalier, which the Hyundai also crashed into.
Atmore Ambulance transported the driver of the Harley to Atmore Community Hospital for treatment of injuries. The extent of his injuries is unknown.
Officers with the Atmore Police Department also responded to the scene. David's Paint &Body towed off the damaged vehicles.
