ATMORE - Marie Gates Stoker, 79, of Atmore died Wednesday, April 15, 2009 in Atmore.
She was a homemaker, born in McCullough on April 27, 1930 to the late Wash and Laura Prescott Gates.
She is preceded in death by a son, William Stoker.
Survivors are, her husband of 54 years, Roy Stoker; one son, Gary Stoker; one daughter, Patricia Murph, all of Atmore; two brothers, Tinse Gates of Pensacola, Fla. and Bill Gates of Lake Wales, Fla.; three grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p.m. April 18, 2009 from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Sister Helen Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in McCullough cemetery. Active pallbearers were, Ronnie Rogers, Chris Rogers, George Rogers, Ian Rogers, Nathan Schwartz and Rick Gates. Family received friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2009 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of all arrangements.
