Doris R. Fickling

HEADLAND - Doris R. Fickling, 92, of Headland formerly of Atmore died Friday, April 17, 2009 in Abbyeville.
She was a homemaker born in Waycross, Ga. to the late Roy and Nora Keel Rittenhouse on March 27, 1917. She was a active member of the Church of God for many years, having taught Sunday school, played the piano and at times directed the choir. In her later years, she attended Calvary Deliverance Temple.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard T. Fickling and a grandson, Tim Sigafoose.
Survivors are, one son, Royce Fickling and wife Denise of Toney; two daughters, Linda Baggette and husband Donnie of Headland and Judith F. Johnson and husband Frank of Uniontown; one brother, R.E. Rittenhouse of Mayport Beach, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 19, 2009 from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Enfinger officiating. Interment followed in the Oak Hill cemetery.
Active pallbearers were, tom Sigafoose, Galen Schmidt, Judson Johnson, Shannon Baggette, Ryan Conner and Martin Whitmore. Family received friends from 2 p.m. until service time Sunday, April 19, 2009 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home,
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
