Following an attempted traffic stop, authorities with the 21st Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force and Atmore Police Department began pursuit of a Nissan Altima carrying two suspects.
Officer Paige Howell with the 21st Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force said they had received several calls in the past few days about drugs being sold out of the car.
"We spotted them on Adams Street and initiated a traffic stop and it started from there," he said.
The car chase ended with the Altima almost careening into a drainage ditch, off of White Street, but stopping just short.
From there, the two suspects in the car fled on foot. The driver, Richard McKenzie, was apprehended and taken into custody. Howell said the other man was still at large, but it was believed to be a man by the name of Bobbie Hartley.
Howell said both drugs and drug paraphernalia was found in the car.
