After a dismal 2-8 season, which featured six games on the road, the Northview Chiefs opened spring training on Friday looking to get physical with the running game.
Chiefs head coach Cody Keene said the largest goal for his team is improving their toughness.
In the offseason, the Chiefs have worked to improve their strength in the weight room.
Several players also participated in other sports to keep in shape.
Keene said this team has looked more conditioned and stronger than he’s ever seen.
Offensively, the Chiefs are looking to improve their ground game.
Keene said finding players for the backfield is going to be a goal during the training.
Overall, finding leadership is something that Keene knows will help his team.
He said he wants to establish two or three players that can keep the team motivated.
