CENTURY, Fla. - Mrs. Vera Mae Burkett, 81, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at a Santa Rosa County hospital.
Vera was a native and lifelong resident of Century, Fla. and attended the Beulah Chapel Assembly of God Church.
Her husband, William Lealon Burkett; a grandson, Joshua Cartwright; a brother, Ralph Moylan and two sisters, Vivian Justice and Loretta Gerow preceded her in death.
Survivors include, four daughters, Theresa and Jerry Lambeth of Century, Fla., Deborah and Rufus Cartwright of Saraland; Suzette and James Walker of Atmore and Rita and Mickey Folson of Germany; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a brother, Frank Moylan of Gainesville, Fla.; two sisters, Nell Birdsall of San Antonio, Texas and Maggie Jean Murray of Broadway, Va.; a devoted niece, Wanda Cooper of Birmingham and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2009 at the Beulah Chapel Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Ronald Broadhead officiating. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2009 at Beulah Assembly of God Church.
Pallbearers were Matthew Cufr, Nathaniel Cartwright, David Gehman, Dillon Conway, Wesley Buchta, Bryan Gross, Paul Gerow, Charlie Gerow and Michael Folson. Honorary pallbearers were Clint Brown and Wesley Smith.
