ATMORE - William Wayne “Billy” Smith, 60, of Atmore died Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at his residence.
He worked with automobiles with paint and body repair, born in Atmore on Feb. 12, 1949 to the late George Frisco and Myrtle Irene McKinley Smith.
A son, Shannon Dewayne Smith; two brothers, Carvin Jackson Smith and Roy Houston Smith preceded him in death.
Survivors include, five sons, Russell Ray Smith of DeFuniak Springs, Fla., William Ashley Smith of Pensacola, Fla., Steven Wayne Smith of Lake Shore, Fla., Kevin Wayne Smith of Houston, Texas and Christopher Wayne Smith of Warren Robbins, Ga.; one daughter, Tammie Lynn Dortch of Bratt, Fla.; one brother, David Grover Smith of Atmore; three sisters, Wanda Lou Sperou, Hazel Ineze Strawbridge and Patricia Ann Baker, all of Atmore and seven grandchildren.
Services were held at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2009 from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Davis officiating. Interment followed in McCullough cemetery. Active pallbearers were, Michael Strawbridge, Keith Strawbridge, Bill Willis, Brandon Smith, Billy Dorriety, George Sperou, Randy McKinley and Greg McKinley. Family received friends from 2 p.m. until service time Saturday, May 9, 2009 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of all arrangements.
