After receiving new grass last summer, the bleachers and press box at Bachelor Field in Canoe are getting some upgrades as well.
Bachelor Field, which is home to the Escambia Academy Cougars football team is currently receiving new wood for the seating as well as a fresh coat of paint around the base.
Escambia Academy head football coach Heath Gibson said that the stadium is receiving a nice look thanks to the renovations.
The renovations to the bleachers are not only being done for the upcoming football season, but it is also being done in time for a huge event taking place on May 21.
Gibson said all of the upgrades are being done as quickly as possible to make the families for the Class of 2009 more comfortable.
The wood and paint is not the only thing new that will grace the Cougars’ stadium. A new sound system is being put in place for the announcing of seniors names and the calling of football games this fall.
Along with boosting the look of the football facility, the improvements are boosting morale.
Gibson said his players are thrilled by the sight of the new bleachers.
