Atmore Public Safety Director Glenn Carlee contacted The Atmore Advance at 8:49 a.m. Wednesday advising that the camper shell to Chad Floryd Jeter's truck was found burnt in a wooded area in Walnut Hill, Fla.
Carlee said authorities are at the scene on Pine Barren Road and are preparing to remove the camper shell. He added that the orange and red lettering reading "Steel City" as well as the portrait of the faded soldier saluting first released Tuesday evening was on the camper shell.
Carlee said that authorities are now searching for a white, older model long-wheel base GMC pickup truck without a camper.
If you have any information regarding Jeter you are asked to contact the Atmore Police Department at 251-368-9141 or the FBI’s Mobile office 251-438-3674.
