Violet Mae Fields Nye

STOCKTON - Mrs. Violet Mae Fields Nye, 78, of Stockton died on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at Mobile Infirmary.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Stockton. She was a graduate of Miller’s Ferry High School in Camden, a member and the First Lady of the Triumph Church of Stockton, housewife, homemaker and was the first female to be hired at Standard Furniture in Bay Minette in 1971.
Her parents, Catherine and Richmond Fields and two brothers, James Richmond Fields and John M. Fields preceded her in death.
Those left to cherish her memories are, her husband, Pastor Prince Hazel L. Nye of Stockton; three daughters, Nancy (Enoch) Williams and Eula (Stanley) Jones of Stockton and Catherine (Clinton) Matthews of Florala; three sons, Winston Nye of Saraland, Mitchell (Patricia) Nye of Stockton and Havel Nye of Columbus, S.C.; one sister, Mary Fields Williams of Stockton; 7 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2009 at the Triumph Church in Stockton with Prince James George and Prince Hazel L. Nye, Pastor. Interment was held in the Robinson Cemetery. Public viewing was held from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Funeral Home and her body lied instate from 9 a.m. until funeral time.
Turner Funeral Chapel, LLC of Atmore was in charge of directing.
