PCI beats Rangers

PCI edged past the Atmore VFW Rangers 5-2 Thursday night in a match up of Cal Ripken Major League teams at Tom Byrne Park.
Poarch struck first with Dakota Barlow reaching base on a double and scoring on the next at-bat.
The Rangers finally got on the board in the fourth inning as Arri Torrez and D’man McCarthy both made it around the bases to take the lead 2-1.
In the bottom of the fourth, Poarch added three runs as Tristan Montgomery, Nik Shivers and Trey McGhee all scored to help their team take a 4-2 lead.
Chris Faye scored the final PCI run in the fifth inning to help his team win 5-2.
Cardinals 6
Tigers 5
The Atmore Lions Club Cardinals outlasted the Atmore Rotary Club and halted their five-game win streak with a 6-5 win Thursday night in a match up of Cal Ripken Major League teams.
The Cardinals made it on the scoreboard first as Trip Vickery and Trey Weekes both crossed the plate to take a 2-0 lead.
In the second inning, Devonte Stevens scored to help pull the Tigers within one run.
Coby Smith scored for the Tigers in the third inning to help his team tie the game.
The Cardinals took the lead again in the fourth inning as Newt Lambeth scooted his way around the bases.
The Tigers jumped ahead 5-3 in the fifth inning as Tristan McAnally, Coby Smith and Tanner Smith all scored heading into the final half of the inning.
In their final at-bat, the Cardinals squeaked past the Tigers as Jon-Jon Griffis, Vickery and Weekes all scored to end the game with a 6-5 win.
Warriors 6
A’s 2
Aaron McDonald led the United Bank Warriors with two runs in their 6-2 win over the First National Bank &Trust Athletics last Tuesday in Cal Ripken Major League action at Tom Byrne Park.
The Athletics scored first as J.P. Sawyer singled and made it around the bases.
In the bottom of the first, the Warriors scored three runs with Brodie Amos, Nate Smith and Dalton Daniels all scoring to take a 3-1 lead.
In the third inning, the Warriors added a run as McDonald crossed the plate to make the score 4-1 in favor of the Warriors.
The Warriors added to their lead again in the fourth inning as Brandon Cummings crossed the plate.
The Athletics finally scored again in the fifth inning as Sawyer scored their final run of the game.
McDonald capped of the scoring in the fifth inning with a run to make the final score 6-2.
Tigers 5
PCI 4
Tanner Smith led the Atmore Rotary Club Tigers to a 5-4 win over PCI in match up of Cal Ripken Major League teams last Tuesday at Tom Byrne Park.
The Tigers put two runs on the board in the first inning as Tristan McAnally and Tanner Smith both made it around the bases to score runs.
PCI jumped ahead in the bottom of the first as Nik Shivers, Tristan Montgomery and Tadd Wall all scored to make the score 3-2.
In the top of the third, Coby Smith and Tanner Smith both scored to help give the Tigers a 4-3 lead.
Poarch tied the game at four in the bottom of the third as Montgomery crossed the plate again.
The Tigers scored the final run in the fourth inning and picked up the win with Reggie Tolbert scoring the winning run.
