Seniors show off skills at Masters Games

Atmore’s seniors again proved that age is a just a number as they competed in the Senior Olympics Masters Games in May at Orange Beach.
Nine seniors from the city participated in the event with six of them placing either first, second or third in several events.
Charlotte Purvis, director of the Atmore SAIL Center, said the Masters Games are a great way for the senior competitors to stay active.
For the seniors, the competition is something that is fun and exciting because they work year round to be ready for the games.
They have only done the games in the seven years that Purvis has been director, but they always do well at the competition.
Purvis said that there were more than 200 competitors at this year’s games, and that Atmore’s group did a good job in all of their competitions.
