ATMORE - Thomas Amon Respress, 55, of Atmore died Saturday, May 20, 2009 at his residence.
He was a truck driver, born in Atmore on Dec. 20, 1953 to the late Amon and Emma Evon Dannelley Respress. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era.
Survivors include, his wife, Terri Respress, of Atmore; one daughter, Whitney M. Daley and husband Will of Pensacola, Fla.; two step sons, Joshua A. Gurley and Joshua E. Gurley, both of Atmore; five brothers, Donald A. Respress, Anthony W. Respress and wife, Patricia, John Michael Respress and wife Joyce, all of Atmore, James A. Respress and Bobby A. Respress, both of Wewahitchka, Fla.; three sisters, Jean Mason and husband, Jerry of Atmore, Janice Kyser and husband, Larry of Pensacola, Fla., Susan Maquire and husband, Charles of Atmore; two sister-in-laws, Tammy Ward and husband, Paul of Dyersburg, Tenn. and Lolita Vickery of Atmore; four grandchildren, Amelia Arnold of Pensacola, Fla. Kayleigh Gurley, Joshua Gurley Jr. and Delaneny Gurley, all of Atmore.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. today, June 3, 2009 from Atmore Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Ed Norris officiating. Interment will follow in MCullough cemetery. Active pallbearers will be, Donald A. Respress, Anthony W. Respress, John Michael Resperss, Joshua A. Gurley, John E. Gurley and Timothy Mason. Honorary pallbearers will be, Jerry Mason, Joshua Gurley Jr. and Larry Kyser.
Family received friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at Atmore Memorial Chapel.
Atmore Memorial Chapel is in charge of all arrangements.
