PCI-Gold finishes No. 1

Poarch-Gold won the Cal Ripken Minor League regular season championiship Thursday night with a 7-6 victory over their closest competitors the Alto Product Braves in Cal Ripken Minor League action.
Poarch picked up the close win thanks to Tyler Jackson and Justin Henderson who eached scored two runs.
The Braves started the game with two runs as L.J. Robinson and Jared Gibbs both scored to pull ahead 2-0.
Poarch fired back in the bottom of the first with Jackson, Dakota O’Barr and Henderson all scoring to take the lead 3-2.
In the bottom of the second, Poarch added to their lead as Jacob Harrison crossed the plate.
It was again Poarch-Gold scoring runs in the bottom of the third as Jackson, Justin Henderson and Tyler Sells all made it around the base path to give their team a 7-2 lead.
The Braves finally got on the board again in the fourth inning as D.J. Dirden scored to pull his team within four runs.
Kyle Hostetler and Delarrian Poole scored runs in the top of the fifth inning to make the game a little more interesting at 7-5.
Fred Flavors gave the Braves their final run of the game to cap off a comeback by his team as they fell short to Poarch 7-6.
Cardinals 8
Poarch-Gray 1
The Atmore Vision Center Cardinals crushed Poarch-Gray 8-1 in a battle of Cal Ripken Minor League teams Thursday night.
Cole Wynn started the scoring for the Cardinals in the top of the second inning after neither team made it on to the scoreboard in the first.
In the third inning, Ethan Patacsil, Shavoris Williams and JaBryce Hooks all scored to give the Cardinals a 4-0 lead.
The Cardinals took that lead and expanded it in the fifth inning scoring four more runs as Patacsil, Shavoris Williams, Hooks and Jaquarious Williams each scored to give their team a huge 8-0 lead.
Poarch finally got on the board in the bottom of the fifth as Coery Bailey scored on a home run.
