Greenlawn squeaks by Utilities Board

Greenlawn Home Health squeaked out a close 8-6 victory over Atmore Utility Board Monday night in Babe Ruth Baseball action at Tom Byrne Park.
Atmore struck first in the bottom of the first inning as Ty Randolph reached base on a single, stole second and scored on an error by the catcher.
Greenlawn answered back in the top of the second inning as Keaton Maher, Coty Merchant and A.J. Matthews all made it on base and scored. Maher reached base on a single, while Merchant and Matthews were both walked. They all scored on a single by DeAndre Riley.
Atmore pulled within one run as Brandon Metzler crossed the plate in the bottom of the second to make the score 3-2.
Dustin Wilson put Greenlawn up 4-2 in the top of the third as he was walked and scored on a fielder’s choice by Bo Bishop.
Atmore jumped ahead 6-4 in the bottom of of the inning as Brett Helton, Derrick Williams, Randolph and Keon McCants all shuffled around the bases to score.
In the fifth inning, Greenlawn tied the game at six as Nate Smith and Bo Bishop scored runs.
The visiting Greenlawn Home Health put the game away in the top of the seventh inning as Smith and Merchant both socred their second runs of the game to give their team a close two-run victory.
