The Poarch Band of Creek Indians Election Board overseeing the recent Tribal Council elections has decided to overrule challenges made to the results last week.
The challenges were made by Tribal council candidates Amy Bryan, Daniel Smilie, Peggy Rolin Couch, Douglas "Poncho" Kelley and also, by voter Chris Adams. Four challenges were submitted to the board and included:
"The Election Board improperly adopted election procedures; qualified voters were turned away from the polls; all absentee votes, even those without proper identification or an affidavit, should have been counted and the Tribal Legal Department improperly participated in the Election
Process."
