BAY MINETTE - Mrs. Sylvia Middleton Jarrell, 75, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at a Baldwin County hospital.
Sylvia was a native of Old Texas and a resident of Bay Minette for the past 54 years. She was the daughter of Alvin Tommy Middleton and Annie Clyde Lasiter, a pianist for various Gospel music groups and singings and attended the Protestant Church.
Her husband, Dean W. Jarrell and her parents preceded her in death.
Survivors include, three sons, Bobby Dean and Helen Jarrell of Castleberry, Larry Wilson Jarrell and Tony Ray Jarrell, both of Bay Minette; her daughter, Jeannine J. and William Wilson of Bay Minette; four grandchildren, William Wilson Jr., Lanie Stewart, Shannon Wilson Motes and Kitrina Deanne Jarrell; one great-grandchild, Jordan Jae Wilson; two expected great-grandchildren on the way, Cooper Gage Wilson; two half brothers, Joseph Pope of Ollie and Claude Eugene Manning of Prattville; three sisters, Juliette Hadley of Magnolia Springs, Elena Bailey of Saraland and Alice Johnson of Frisco City and her half-sister, Elaine Skinner of Bay Minette.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2009 at the Semirah Springs Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Leo Luker Jr. officiating. Burial followed at Semirah Springs cemetery with Petty Funeral Homes, LLC directing. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Ron Hall, Raymond Woods, Darrell Hollinger, William Wilson Sr., William Wilson Jr. and Ray Pugh.
