Braves beat Blue Flames, Mets in MLK action

The United Bank Braves squeaked past the Utility Department Blue Flames 4-3 in a battle of competitors in the Martin Luther King Little League Thursday at Houston Avery Park.
The Blue Flames jumped out to a quick lead in the first inning as Dexter Williams was walked and scored on a single by Brandon McCaster.
Charles Jackson helped the Blue Flames add to their lead in the top of the second when he reached base on a walk and scored on a passed ball by the catcher.
Scottie McNeal and Desmond Bishop helped the Braves tie the game in the bottom of the second inning as they were both walked and knocked in on a single ripped by Chris Jones.
Charles Walker pushed the Blue Flames ahead 3-2 in the third inning as he ripped a single and scored on a passed ball by the catcher.
The game was tied again in the bottom of the third as Sanchez Brown was walked and able to score on a fielder’s choice by Demontre Moorer.
Both teams were held scoreless in the fourth inning, but the Braves pulled out the victory in the fifth and final inning as Joe Jones was walked and scored the inning run.

Mets 8
Alexis Crenshaw, Jamarcus Curry and Demontre Moorer led the United Bank Braves with three runs each as they helped their team get a 15-8 win over the First National Bank &Trust Mets Tuesday at Houston Avery Park.
In the first inning, the Braves took a 4-0 lead as Crenshaw, Curry, Moorer and Tyderian English all crossed the plate.
The Mets grabbed their only lead in the bottom of the first as Christ Davis, Xavier Lesley, Ladarius Willis, Randy Johnson and Jadesae Eason all scored runs to make the score 5-4.
The Braves pulled back ahead of their opponent in the second inning as Crenshaw, Curry and Moorer all scored their second runs of the game to give their team a 7-5 lead.
Davis scored his second run of the game for the Mets to pull his team within one run in the bottom of the second.
In the top of the third, the Braves added three runs as Sanchez Brown, Crenshaw and Curry all made it around the bases.
They added to their lead again in the fourth inning with Brown scoring his second run of the game to make the score 11-6 in favor of the Braves.
The Mets scored their final two runs in the fourth inning as Davis scored his third run of the game, while Jajuon Arnold scored his first.
In the final inning, the Braves put the game away with four runs as Moorer, Anthony Dailey, English adnd Scottie McNeal all scored to make the final score 15-8.
