The distraught emotions of family and friends of Ivory Walker were obvious as they stood on the side of Hwy. 21 Monday afternoon as emergency personnel worked hard to free the 41-year-old woman from her vehicle.
Walker ran off the right side of the road heading north at approximately 2:25 p.m. going down the steep embankment and crashing into a wooden utility pole. Walker’s car wrapped around the pole on the driver side leaving Walker trapped for about an hour.
State Trooper James Richburg said at this time the circumstances of the accident are unknown.
LifeFlight transported Walker from the scene to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola where she is now in the critical care unit. Unconfirmed reports have her listed in stable condition.
