RABON - Mr. James Raymond Joiner, 79, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2009 at a Mobile hospital.
James was a native and lifelong resident of Rabon. He was a retired U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam, a mason of Bay Minette Lodge # 498 and attended the Baptist Church.
His son, James Steven Joiner preceded him in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Mazie H. Joiner of Rabon; his son, Rodney Scott Joiner of Ridgley, West Va.; two step sons, Roi Lamar Hadley and Thomas Earl Hadley, both of Perdido; four daughters, Rosa Ellen Twigg of Mt. Savage, MD, Pamela Regina Allen, Brenda Lee Karpanty and Audrey Lynn Robinson, all of Bay Minette; three stepdaughters, Darlene Stewart of Bay Minette, Pauline Weaver of Cross Roads and Tammy Stewart of Bay Minette; 12 grandchildren; 13 step grandchildren; one great grandchild and nine step great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Glen Whitfield and Sister Helen Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Dean Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., today, July 1, 2009 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Military Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers will be, Ben Simpson, Will Richardson, Kaiser Karpanty, Kennedy Karpanty, Colby Joiner, Joseph Weaver and W.M. Stewart.
